Point-of-Care Ultrasound
Included with membership
At Highpoint Direct Care, we bring advanced diagnostic imaging directly to your visit with point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). This allows us to deliver rapid, accurate, and objective assessments without relying on outside imaging centers. Our ultrasound skills enable:
Ultrasound-guided injections for precise treatment of joints, tendons, and soft tissue injuries
Musculoskeletal diagnostics for sprains, strains, tendon injuries, and joint abnormalities
Soft tissue and cyst evaluation for lumps, bumps, or abnormal growths
Vascular assessments such as evaluation for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or peripheral blood flow
Abdominal and organ screening for rapid evaluation of gallbladder, kidney, liver, and bladder concerns
Real-time monitoring of healing, rehabilitation progress, and post-procedure outcomes
Objective in-office findings so your physician can make evidence-based decisions immediately
With POCUS, your physician can diagnose, guide treatment, and monitor results—all in a single visit. This technology allows us to provide faster, more accurate care, reduce uncertainty, and help you get back to the activities you love sooner.
Advanced Skin Procedures
May have additional fees
Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers, affecting millions of people each year. At Highpoint Direct Care, we are trained in advanced dermatology procedures that allow for timely diagnosis and treatment, including:
Cryotherapy for warts, skin tags, and other minor lesions
Skin biopsies for accurate evaluation of suspicious spots (+pathology fee via Quest)
Skin lesion excisions for early-stage cancerous tissue and benign lesions ($100 per procedure + pathology fee via Quest)
Having a physician skilled in these procedures ensures that you receive efficient, evidence-based care when it matters most. More advanced skin cancers, including melanomas, are promptly referred to qualified dermatologists to ensure you receive the most appropriate specialized care.
By combining preventive evaluation, advanced in-office procedures, and expert judgment, we help you detect, treat, and monitor skin concerns early, improving outcomes and giving you peace of mind.

Shockwave Therapy
Additional fees apply
-
At High Point Direct Care, we offer radial shockwave therapy (RSWT) using the Chattanooga Intelect RPW 2 — a non-invasive treatment designed to stimulate healing in chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Shockwave therapy delivers controlled acoustic pulses to injured soft tissue, helping improve blood flow, cellular signaling, and tissue remodeling. It is commonly used for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, lateral epicondylitis, Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy, and other tendon or soft-tissue pain, particularly when symptoms have not improved with rest, physical therapy, or medications.
-
Unlike many clinics where shockwave is applied using preset protocols, treatment at Highpoint Direct Care is physician-directed and individualized. When appropriate, we incorporate musculoskeletal ultrasound to better understand the underlying source of pain — such as tendon degeneration, calcifications, thickening, or focal inflammation — allowing treatment to be more precisely targeted. This approach helps ensure that shockwave therapy is applied to the tissue most likely to benefit, rather than broadly or generically.
-
Our model emphasizes accuracy, clinical judgment, and integration with a broader treatment plan. Musculoskeletal ultrasound may be used to confirm the diagnosis and guide treatment zones, while clinical expertise informs energy settings, session frequency, and progression. Shockwave therapy is often combined with education, activity modification, and progressive loading strategies to support durable recovery — not just temporary symptom relief.
-
High-quality clinical research supports the use of extracorporeal shockwave therapy for certain chronic musculoskeletal conditions. A 2023 systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials published in Pain Physician found that shockwave therapy significantly reduced pain and improved function in patients with plantar fasciopathy, with consistent benefit and a favorable safety profile. The authors noted that outcomes are influenced by treatment parameters and appropriate clinical application, reinforcing the importance of physician oversight.
